US Special Representative For Ukraine Says The U.S. Is Considering Sending Arms To Ukraine

BBC: US considering arms to Ukraine, says envoy Volker

The new US special representative for Ukraine says Washington is actively reviewing whether to send weapons to help those fighting against Russian-backed rebels.

Kurt Volker told the BBC that arming Ukrainian government forces could change Moscow's approach.

He said he did not think the move would be provocative.

Russia warned that anything that heightened tension could jeopardise a solution to the conflict.

Mr Volker, a former US permanent representative to Nato, was given the role in Kiev earlier this month.

"Defensive weapons, ones that would allow Ukraine to defend itself, and to take out tanks for example, would actually help" stop Russia threatening Ukraine, he said in a BBC interview.

Which the Ukrainians will win, take it to the bank, your precious Russian military are highly overrated and just do not have the equipment, training and numbers to do anything else in the Ukraine or elsewhere. I find it amusing that people like you and others who dream of the pre-Afghanistan Soviet army that could take Germany in a few days (The Afghan and Chechen adventures destroyed that myth) could today take Estonia or Kiev in a day and they cannot even win a battle in the Donbass. The Ukrainian military IMO is on par if not better than the Russian military and as the days go by are getting more westernized which is bad news for Putin's military. I say give the Ukrainian military the equipment they need to take back what is rightly theirs.
