Chinese Tech Companies Facing U.S. Security Concerns

The Hill: Security fears spark crackdown on Chinese tech

The federal government is taking steps to reduce the presence of some Chinese technology firms in American markets.

Earlier this month, AT&T scrapped a deal with Chinese phone maker Huawei, reportedly as a result of pressure from anonymous U.S. lawmakers who cited national security concerns. Reuters reported this week that lawmakers are now pressing AT&T to sever all of its commercial ties with Huawei.

And the White House blocked two acquisitions of American companies by Chinese firms in recent months, also citing “national security concerns.”

Lawmakers reportedly are pushing to keep Chinese telecommunications firm China Mobile out of the U.S. for similar reasons.

Oh, please.

Do you know how many and how much US companies are scrutinised when they want to do business in China?

Do you know that China often requires them to transfer IP to China? And that's not even touching on the additional hundreds of billions China steals every year from the international community - especially the US and EU, but lately also Japan, Australia and a few others, when it comes to government backed industrial espionage and copyright infringements?

It is well known that Chinese government officials train their CEOs in what to say, what to demand and how to deny. If you don't know this, please inform yourself and talk to people who do business with China - it is well known in the industrial, engineering and tech community.

China is a rogue state - 1.5bn people who are not touchable by many international laws, protected by their government, incentivised by the government. We have to wake up to this.

We cannot have two large systems. The rest of the world and China. Wer don't compete fairly. Chinese will keep getting richer and we poorer.

If I support Trump in one thing, then it's stopping China's aggressive behaviour in business and internationally. Just look at the south China Sea. Try to go fishing in international waters. They will ram your ship. Sometimes worse, for example there are many reports in Chinese navy just boarding vessels in international water and taking the crew's equipment and sometimes the fish and beating them up. Look what China does to people in Hong Kong. The UK, Hong Kong and China had an agreement to treat Hong Kong differently and give them more rights. Look what happened. Not only did they break their word but abducted book sellers who sold Xi critical books. Imprisoned students who protested. Those who protest in China end up in the famous torture and sleep deprivation halls, where you don't get sleep for sometimes weeks. Read the reports of people who got out, including British and American. It can happen to everyone. Those guys after a few days of also deprivation and bad nutrition thought the'd die. If you protested water boarding, this is even worse.

We need to come together to stop China's violations and aggression, and where possible work with the Chinese government to wake them up from this madness. We cannot keep backing down or ignoring it.

It's for all our good, and it's also good for China.

Here's why: many in China are deeply patriotic and feel they have been treated badly by their neighbours in the past. They absolutely love their military, and I understand. They have all right to be patriotic:
Because they often do not know what their government does. China's firewall and information and access suppression is well known and has gotten much tougher than say 5 years ago. Nowadays even the VPNs many Chinese used to get around the firewall just 2-3 years ago now are all blocked, and new ones are blocked rapidly. So the majority is giving up. For the same reason it's good that Russia sometimes calls out the US, for example when it comes to spying on their own citizens, it's good if we call out China whenever and wherever we can. Because that is one fiercly patriotic population (like early nazi Germany), and it too believes in it's rightful claim to almost every place (again, like Nazi Germany), has become quite racist or at least hostile to other nationalities and races (it used to be mainly black people, but good luck trying to get a job if you look Indian or brown now)...And it is building up is military substantially.

And recently Xi told the military to swear loyalty to him (like Hitler did). WNU you reported on this yourself. And Xi told them now "not to be afraid of death" and that war is coming soon.

How many more hints do people need to see that something is wrong about the way China acts?

Please help spread the word. Otherwise this will end badly for everyone.
